At the age of only 22, South Dallas based artist Blak remains the city’s best kept secret. With no regard, he is easily on the verge of becoming one of Hip Hop’s brightest yet most dangerous, controversial emcees in his region since Scarface. Still can’t picture it? Imagine a southern artist with both a smooth and aggressive delivery with voices inflections similar to that of Dr. Dre and The Game. His Sound is almost impossible to go unnoticed. Coming up in the street of South Dallas, Blak faced the struggles of poverty, drugs, gang-banging, and a list of all types of negative influences. “Adversity is my Motivator”, he says calmly with a smile. “I’ve seen niggaz come up where I came from, get in the game get trapped and never come out this shit. I’ve been thru a lot. I’ve always had music when there was nothing else. I gotta make it with this.” With the support of a entire city holding him up, there is no doubt that he will. His debut album, still untitled, is slated to drop later this year under the 5 Starr Entertainment label and label head Charles “Chuck Gee” Gibbs. With heavy production from up and coming producer J-Pill. Say whatever you want about Blak, although you’ll probably be ignored or be taken by a punch in the mouth, he will emerge in the game like a block of C4 ready to blow.
